Congratulations
about your Wanja (Wolkenstein x Rubinstein)
Hi
Lynn and Bob,
Congratulations!
You have a new St.Pr.St. (States Premium Stute/mare) in your breeding
program!
I
took the day off from my academic duties in Heidelberg to watch
Wanja today. My dad and I just got back a minute ago from Standenbühl.
Wanja passed her mare performance test, placing 5th of 40 mares.
The Mare Performance Testing Jury agreed with Test Rider Hans Gunter
Klein that your Wanja had the best rideability of all the mares.
Her score was higher than another mare now competing at L level
dressage. The jumping score of Wanja was lower than we expected
but I think her postpartum stiffness will go away gradually.
Wanja
is now back in Obermoschel for breeding to Heike Kemmer's stallion,
Don Laurie (Don Schufro x Lauries Crusader).
Your
other two Obermoschel mares, Genovera and LaRochelle, are doing
great. We expect your next two foals in the early weeks of June.
Talk
to you soon.

Go
to the May 19, 2002 entry for more information about the wonderfully
rideable gelding's lineage. His sire, ``Flemmingh`` is noted for
producing dressage horses with incredible character and willingness
to work.
``Trik-Trak``
is a four year old chestnut gelding with a flaxen mane. Since first
started under saddle by German Bereiter, Maik Ristedt, during the
summer of 2003, both Mr. Lyn Clarke, and Kim Kulesa have noted that
this young horse has exceptional gaits and a super work ethic.

new Olympic sized dressage arena at Red Hawk Ranch has been completed.
Trainer, Mr. Lyn Clarke, leads ``Haverford's Redhawk`` into the
arena on its first day of use.

After
a two day Jet Pets/USDA importation quarantine at Los Angeles International
Airport, Lyn Clarke and his fiancé, Katie Ellis, transported our
three newest German fillies to Red Hawk Ranch. Jazz Saxophonist
Jason Weber accompanied their arrival as the guests attending our
Annual Open House watched on.
Two
members of the Germany's Mecklenburg Verband (Dr. Lothar Makowei,
DVM and Bereiter Maik Ristedt) traveled with ``Dewey Beach,`` ``Serendipity,``
and ``Delaware Bay`` during their voyage aboard KLM Flight 601 from
Amsterdam to Los Angeles.
Since
Maik first highlighted Landgestüt Redefin's stallion, ``D'Olympic``
(Vice World Champion Young Warmblood Dressage Horse, 21-25 June
2000, Arnhem, The Netherlands), Red Hawk Ranch has bred this fantastic
``Donnerhall`` son twice to our Germany based mares --- both resulting
in SiegerStuteFohlen awards (champion fillies), while also importing
two other incredible mares by this same sire.
As
a breeding official of the Mecklenburg Verband, Dr. Makowei has
indicated that the German FN 2003 Dressage Breed Index Ranking of
13 reflects the athletic talent, character, and beauty that ``D'Olympic``
stamps on his foals.
Next
week, ``Dewey Beach`` and her two companions from Germany will be
incorporated into Lyn Clarke's "equine kindergarten" sessions held
each Saturday at Red Hawk Ranch.
