Bootin'
Digger Equine was founded in 1991. By ``Thinking in Terms of Generations,``
our breeding objectives result in California sporthorses with superlative
gaits, athleticism, and willing character.
Our mares come from proven warmblood lines, including: Abgar, Akzent
I, Barsoi, Der Löwe, Donnerhall, D'Olympic, Furioso II, Gotthard,
Grande, Hohenstein, Idocus, Pic Noir, Rohdiamant, Rubinstein I,
Sir Oldenburg, Voltaire, and Weltmeyer.
We maintain imported frozen straws from the following stallions
for our own mares: "Wolkenstein" (1993 Bundeschampion), "Londonderry"
(1999 Bundeschampion, 2001 Vice-Bundeschampion), "Don Primero" (a
top German FN dressage-breed-indexed stallion), and "Hohenstein"
(Trakehner Stallion of the Year 2002).
Our heritage goes back a long way like the lineage of our horses.
Bob's great grandfather bred & trained thoroughbreds before World
War I. However, it wasn't until Bob's experience at the 1984 Olympics,
and after Lynn left the Pentagon that they realized that horses
were in their blood.
Why a company name like: Bootin' Digger Equine? Bob's roommate at
the U.S. Naval Academy watched Bob boot soccer balls incredible
distances while unable to pronounce his last name. The nickname
"Bootin' Digger" started during his Plebe Summer at USNA.
